There is a powerful shift in the energy of nature, one that requires us to let go. So, if you notice yourself sleeping a little bit more or just not feeling as active, you may be experiencing the energy of the earth pulling out of you the things you have outgrown. The more you are in harmony with this process, the easier it becomes. Fighting the process will only leave you feeling tired, emotional and worn out. Here is one of my favorite ways to get in alignment with the season’s energy. It will help you be more discerning between what energizes you from love, and what is draining your energy. Begin to notice the things you do out of obligation:
- I should visit my parents
- I should bake cookies for all my friends
- I should be exercising and eating better
Take a moment and write down these things down. Write the things that you feel that you should be doing. How do they make you feel? What does it do for your energy? Your motivation and your self image? Now that you’ve got this list, I invite to give yourself a break and begin to release the feelings of obligation. When you do things out of obligation it takes a lot of energy, making yourself do things you don’t want to do. It results in resentment, and puts more distance between you and those that you love. You may be doing these things unconsciously or out of habit. As you do, you attract to yourself more things to do out of obligation. It’s easy to fall into acting from an urgent feeling of, “I have to do it all myself” or “If I don’t do it, it’s not going to get done”. These are states of contraction and fear. They burden you by subtly getting you to believe you are in charge, or that you have the power to take care of everything and everyone. When you let go of these fears and connect to a larger sense of the universe, you let go of feeling you have to do it all alone. You open yourself to trusting this friendly universe, and to receiving from universe. That’s when the real gifts begin to arrive and amazing things start to happen for all concerned. So, take a moment now to begin to release the feelings of obligation and make more room for love. A great way to let them go is by blessing them. You can do this. Grab your list of obligations and focus within yourself. Take a moment and connect with how you feel about the people and situations involved. Say out loud to each of the items on your list: “I bless you and bless the goodness working through you, and I release this to the highest good of all concerned.” Simply focus on that idea, saying it to yourself and feeling the feelings of letting go and expansion. Do this until you get a sense of peace with the situation. This will help you recover your energy, freedom and be much more passionate about the things that you really meant to do. Yay!
