What to expect during your hypnosis session

Going into hypnosis is a very individual and relaxing experience. Outwardly, you get into a comfy chair and close your eyes as you follow a set of instructions to guide you past the obstacles of the conscious mind so you can enter within the subconscious.

As a hypnotherapist, it is my goal to guide you into a relaxed state of mind where you can communicate with your subconscious and attain your goals. In order to do this, you will need to follow my instructions so that together we can put aside the critical factor of you conscious mind.

The conscious mind is made up of the thoughts that are convinced they know why we are in our present situation, and why we can’t change. We need to set those thoughts aside temporarily to access the healing insight stored within the subconscious.
You will not be not be in an unconscious state like when you sleep at night or are under anesthesia. Hypnosis is actually a state of heightened awareness, where you have more control than in your conscious state.

As the hypnotherapist, I will be giving you directions and beneficial suggestions to help you on this path. I will be checking for physiological changes to monitor you depth of hypnosis.
Going into trance (another word for hypnosis) can be very quick, but I am dedicated to working with each individual to help them attain the most beneficial state possible. Once you are within your subconscious mind, change can take place fairly quickly.

Each session lasts about one hour. The number of sessions required is dependent upon the individual, their ability to enter hypnosis, their readiness for change, and their dedication to practice between sessions. Many issues are resolved in one session, but to cover all aspects of an issue, 3-5 sessions are recommended.
